Book Submissions

Welcome to the O’Reilly Learning Platform Book Submission Guide. Content providers will find this guide invaluable in preparing and delivering their content to O’Reilly Learning in accordance with their contracts. The information in this document is confidential and proprietary to O’Reilly Media, Inc. and is not to be disclosed by the publisher to any third party with the exception of a distribution agency pursuant to delivering content to O’Reilly Media, Inc. on the provider’s behalf. Exceptions require an appropriate, signed non-disclosure agreement.

Whether you’re a new content provider or a long-standing O’Reilly Learning partner, we will keep you informed of the latest updates to our title submission process in this documentation. In the constantly evolving technological landscape, we strive to adapt and update our processes to accommodate new workflows and tool chains and to make it easier for you to present your content to an ever-expanding audience.

You can submit books to O’Reilly Learning in several ways:

  • Distribution agency: If you already use a distribution agency such as Ingram CoreSource for your deliveries to Amazon or Apple, you can likely use them for your deliveries to O’Reilly Learning as well. We currently receive title deliveries from CoreSource and several other agencies. Please check with the Content Team to find out if your agency is already delivering titles to O’Reilly Learning on behalf of other publishers.

  • SFTP Upload: After some initial setup, this method involves individually sending asset files and metadata to an SFTP server. Detailed instructions for this method are in the SFTP Uploads section.

  • Portal User Interface: You will find detailed information on the Portal UI here or you can email the Content Team.
